Linkedin Share

As most people are aware, Linkedin is a professional networking social media site. In many niches it makes more sense to share something you find online to your Linkedin connections. Linkedin has made an easy way for users to share content to their Linkedin profile – the Linkedin Share Plugin.

There are several variations and visual options, but I always opt for the version with the bubble counter on top.

You can customize your own button at Linkedin’s developer page for their Share Plugin:

The code you have to insert is perhaps the quickest and easiest we’ve come across yet.

The Result

If you want to insert multiple buttons, you only need to include the first script call once, and the second line of code is all you need. Simple!

If you have 0 shares, Linkedin will put a generic placeholder image in its place. I personally am not a fan of this, but unfortunately there is no way to get rid of it when the counter is in the “top” position.
